Command Sergeant Major of Vermont National Guard Visits ARM

Vermont National Guard Command Sergeant Major Toby Quick is paying a visit to ARM, which is part of the State Partnership Program activities between the Army of the Republic of Macedonia and the National Guard (NG) of the State of Vermont.

This visit is one of the activities that have been planned for this year so as to mark the 25 year jubilee of the Partnership Program for cooperation with Vermont. This is also the first American National State Partnership Program for support and development that was established with independent Republic of Macedonia in 1993.

Command Sergeant Major Toby Quick with his host the Command Sergeant Major of ARM Sveto Cvetkovski and sergeant majors of other immediate subordinate commands and units, also visited one of the ongoing partnership program activities for 2018, “ Level 2 and 3 Maintenance Support”, conducted by a team  from Vermont NG at ARM Technical Repair Center.

The cooperation with NA of Vermont became official with the signing of a Memorandum of Cooperation in 1994, and since then 4000 ARM members through various forms of training and education have had the opportunity to become familiar with the standards, tactics and techniques of Vermont NG, the Armed Forces of the USA and NATO standards.

ARM soldiers participated in Task Force Phoenix during the ISAF mission in Afghanistan being co-deployed with soldiers of the Vermont NG.

Today Command Sergeant Major Quick will deliver a lecture to the fourth-year cadets at the Military Academy “Mihailo Apostolski” and during his stay in the Republic of Macedonia he will also visit other units of ARM.

The jubilee year of the Partnership Program for cooperation with Vermont NG will be marked with previously planned activities as well as mutual high officials’ visits from ARM and Vermont NG.
