The Partnership Program for cooperation that has been successfully implemented for more than two decades, with the active involvement of the Vermont National Guard and Norwich University in the field of military training and education, resulted in a true friendship between Republic of Macedonia and the US Federal State of Vermont.
Yesterday (18th of April 2017), ARM delegation led by the ARM Chief of General Staff Lieutenant General Metodija Velichkovski began the planned activities within the working visit to the US federal state Vermont.
At the military barracks “Alekso Demnievski-Bauman”, Veles, there was a celebration for the Day of the Training Command and Doctrine (TRADOC).
Confidence, confirmed with previous joint activities and positive results arising from the partnership between the ARM and the Army of the US Armed Forces in Europe, as well as taking part in international exercises supported by this command, was the main topic of conversation during today’s visit of the ARM by Deputy Commander of US Land Forces in Europe, Major General Timothy McGuire.
In the military barracks ‘Strasho Pindjur’ in Petrovec, members of the 1st Mechanized Infantry Brigade (1stMIBr) of the Army of the Republic of Macedonia held a military ceremony to mark the Day of the Brigade in an honorable manner.
Today, with a symbolic line-up, the General Staff of the Army of Republic of Macedonia marked the 25th anniversary of the establishment of the GS, and commencement of its activities and management of the army.
Celebrating the 25th anniversary of ARM, there was a military ceremony at the barracks “Ilinden” in Skopje which also marked the 25th anniversary of the takeover of the biggest military installation in the Republic of Macedonia from the JNA.
At the first meeting of the group for implementation, held today, ARM has started the preparations for the upcoming twenty-first Conference of Chiefs of Army Staff from the US-Adriatic Charter (A5) member countries.
